President Muhammdu Buhari on Tuesday escaped death as gunmen attacked his convoy while on his way to to Daura, Katsina state for Sallah Celebrations.
Confirming the attack, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Garba Shehu, said the gunmen were repelled by the security personnel attached to the President.
Garba Shehu’s statement reads thus, “The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.
Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered. All the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura”.
